| Yam Dessert Soup with Chinese Dates (红枣山芋汤) |
A simple and delicious dessert soup using yam and red Chinese dates.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. yam
- 12 red dry Chinese dates
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 4 cups of water
Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Steps
1. Boil 4 cups of water in a medium size pot.
2. Rinse 12 red dry Chinese dates using water, poke a hole in the Chinese dates to absorb water more easily, add to the pot, turn heat to low, simmer for 30 minutes.
3. Remove the skin from 1/2 lb yam, cut the yam into thin slices, add to the pot, boil then simmer with low heat cook for 10 minutes.
4. Add 2 tablespoon sugar to the soup, stir evenly.
