Wonton with Chinese Leek, Ground Pork and Shrimp (韭菜猪肉虾仁馄饨))


A delicious wonton with the filling of Chinese leek, ground pork and shrimp. The Chinese leek gives special aroma.


Ingredients
  • 1 lb Chinese leek
  • 2 lb ground pork
  • 12 shrimp
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 few drops sesame oil
  • A pinch of salt and sugar.
  • 2 packs Shanghai style wonton wrapper (2 lb)

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes

Servings: 120 wonton (12 servings if 10 for each person, freeze the wonton for longer storage).

Cooking Steps

Prepare the Filling
1. Wash 1 lb Chinese leek using water, drain, Fine chop the leek, add to a large mixing bowl.


2. Sprinkle salt to the leek (1-2 teaspoon, adjust accordingly), sprinkle a pinch of sugar, mix evenly.
3. Add 2 lb ground pork to the leek.
4. Clean 12 shrimp, remove skin and veins, fine chop, add to the mixing bowl.

5. Add 2 tablespoon vegetable oil, 2 tablespoon corn starch, a few drops sesame oil.
6. Mix all ingredients evenly, taste the sampling by heating a small portion in microwave, adjust salt accordingly.





Tip:
If there is any left wonton wrapper or the filling, simply freeze them for next time usage.
