This is a traditional duck wing stew using simple ingredients such as soy sauce, sugar, ginger and green onion.
Duck wing can be found in most Chinese grocery stores, it is usually half price of the duck leg quarter and less fat.
Ingredients
- 2 lb. duck wings
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 table spoon sugar.
- 2 green onion
- A few slices of ginger
Prepare the Duck Wing
1. Boil a pot of water, add the raw duck wings to the boiling water and boil for 5 minutes to get rid of the blood.
2. Move the duck wings to cold water, clean and drain the water.
Cooking Steps
3. Heat a wok with 1 table spoon vegetable oil, add a few slices of ginger and 2 fine chopped green onion, stir fry for 1 minute.
4. Add the duck wings to the wok, stir evenly for 2 minutes, add 2 table spoon soy and 2 tablespoon sugar, stir evenly.
5. Add 2 cup of water to the wok, boil. Move the duck and soup to a medium size pot, cover, use low heat to simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours.
6. Uncover the pot, use high heat to boil for 5-10 minutes or until the sauce becomes very thick. Be very careful of this step, monitor all the times, otherwise the pot will be burnt very easily.
