Simple Tomato Egg Drop Soup in 15 Minutes



A very traditional delicious Chinese soup using tomato and egg.

During summer time, we tend to lose our appetite, this soup will stimulate your appetite due to the sweet and sour flavor from the tomato. It is healthy with the balanced nutrition from the egg and tomato.


Preparation and Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 4

Cooking Steps

1. Boil a pot of 4 cups of water (or chicken stock for best result). Add a pinch of salt.
2. Cut 2-3 tomatoes into 1 inch pieces, add to the pot and boil for 5-10 minutes.

3. Beat 2 eggs evenly, slowly drop the egg to the boiling soup, stir the egg drops evenly and boil 1 minute or until the egg is fully cooked.
4. Add chopped green onion, boil for less than 1 minute, add a few drops of sesame oil. Serve.
