| Pan Fried Shanghai Style Wonton |
Crispy pan fried Shanghai style wonton, dipping in soy sauce or Chinese black vinegar gives the best taste. Ready in 15 minutes if using previously prepared wonton. A great way to serve quick breakfast in the busy morning, give kids this yummy alternative!
Cooking Steps
1. Make wonton,
2. Boil half pot of water in a medium size pot.
3. Add 20 wonton (frozen ones can be directly added to boiling water too, no need to defreeze them so that we save some time), use a wood spade to separate from the bottom of the pot and from each other.
4. Boil for 1-2 minutes, avoid overcooking the wonton at this time, otherwise they will become too soggy for the frying step.
5. Heat a non sticky cooking pan with 3 table spoon of cooking vegetable oil, take the wonton out of the water, add them to the pan, cover, turn heat to medium.
6. Let each side cook for 5 minutes (or until the side turns golden color), flip the wonton to cook all sides until most of the sides turn golden color as well. Always cover the pan after flipping.
7. Serve plain or with dippings (the simplest is the soy sauce or Chinese black vinegar),
